Birthrights is seeking two maternity professionals – one midwife and one obstetrician – to join its board of trustees.
In its first two years of operation, Birthrights has achieved a reputation for high-quality advice and training, ground-breaking research on dignity principles in maternity care, and legal interventions in controversial cases affecting women’s rights. We regularly work with other organisations including the Royal College of Midwives, the British Institute for Human Rights and the Equality and Human Rights Commission. The board currently draws on a broad spectrum of experience and includes individuals with legal, policy, financial and healthcare experience. Our new trustees would bring experience in frontline maternity care and provide invaluable advice and support for the work that Birthrights undertakes.
The deadline for applications is 13 March 2014.
